John grew up at Clippesby and took over the day to day running of the campsite from his mum and dad ‘Jean & Jock’ in 1988.
In the early days, John and his wife Sue (more about Sue later) worked in almost every area of the park, in Reception and the Coffee Shop during the day and in the evenings in the Muskett Arms. Although still very much involved in the day to day business, John now spends much of his time in his newly created garden which is inside of the old walled garden of the Hall. John grows flowers, salad and vegetables which are used in both the Coffee Shop and the Muskett Arms – as food miles go, you can’t get much more local than that!
John and Sue enjoy their holidays in their motor home both in Europe and the UK and often come back with ideas that we can use at Clippesby. John has just returned from skiing in France and in his opinion says ‘everyone should take more holidays’.
