Beer in the Broads - The Autumn Beer Festival, a popular and regular event at Clippesby, will be held over two weekends this year, 11th - 13th and 18th – 20th September. Based in a marquee in the old walled garden, with local band ‘Hard Rain’ booked for the both weekends, this event has developed its own unique relaxed and family friendly atmosphere. Lee is continuing to search out a varied selection of Norfolk ales this year. Pitches are still available for the 2nd weekend.Beer in the Broads - Autumn Beer Festival

The Autumn Beer Festival, a popular and regular event at Clippesby, will be held over two weekends this year, 13th-14th and 20th-21st September 2013. Based in a marquee in the old walled garden, with local band ‘Hard Rain’ booked for the both weekends, this event has developed its own unique relaxed and family friendly atmosphere. Lee is continuing to search out a varied selection of Norfolk ales as always. Pitches are still available for both weekends.

Explorer is being served from the muskett arms

Light and refreshing beer brewed with chinook and columbus hops, bursting with flavour with aromas of grapefruit.  Citrus fruits bursts on your palate, very hoppy.  Rated very high through the season.

BROADSIDE

4.7%

A premium bitter brewed with maris otter and optic malts and three hop varieties; fuggles, first gold and goldings.  Fruitcake aromas, almonds and conserved fruit.  A deep copper rewarding pint to savour.

GHOST SHIP

This beer has good assertive pithy bitterness with a malty backbone and a lemon and lime aroma. Brewed with some pale ale malt, crystal malt, munich and some wheat malt.  Columbus and chinook hops and a new hop called citra, responsible for adding great lime flavours.

RASPBERRY RIPPLE

A traditional recipe golden ipa with a delicious after taste of fresh norfolk raspberries, unique and pleasantly fragrant on the nose.

A deep amber beer with a rich, chocolaty nose, supported by a little citrus hoppiness. The taste is malty and fruity (tell-tale pineapple notes from the cascade hops), with hints of chocolate, but quite dry. Plenty of depth for its modest strength.

Full flavoured yet a light and hoppy pale ale, citrus aromas with complex tastes.

Light amber colour with soft malt citrus and marmalade flavours.  Brewed with fresh orange peel.  East anglian wheat and barley, champion speciality beer winner.

Or “gone missing’’as its known down the local!  Considering this is a strong beer it is very drinkable for its full flavour.  Deep amber in colour, fruity and malty.

Traditional strong pale ale full of flavour with a sturdy hoppy aroma and a clean, crisp flavour with a dryish, citrus finish.

 great with a good curry (apparently).  Opaque belgian style beauty.

One of a spooky norfolk duo named after ghost stories from the norfolk broads.  This is traditional mild ale, with a sweet flavour and malty nose.

Unique flavours create this ale and the fruity hop taste lasts to the bottom of the glass.

Pale and refreshing.  This clear wheat beer is brewed in the german style.  Soft german hops added to the brew give a wonderful aroma and slightly sweet taste to leave the imbiber wanting more.

Solid and generous sweet fruit flavours create a complex and satisfying dark beer.  Wonderfully and dangerously drinkable.

Proper organic cloudy cider made with 100% apples naturally fermented, medium sweet or medium dry or mix the two for yet another thirst quenching option, massively popular all through our season.

Two apple varities and no chemical additives.  Slowly fermented retaining all the natural flavours, blended and sweetened with wild fruits to give a black, very sweet, drinkable cider which bites back.
